Thoughts? experiences?
I thought it was really good, story was good, presentation was amazing. The attention to detail was really impressive just like the last game. My only gripe would be that they really toned down the RPG aspect it seemed like. The combat was vastly improved, along with the planet side quests. I would've liked to see the main quest extended a little bit though.

I'm thoroughly enjoying it. I've got the free trip I'm playing at my friends house. Got 3 hours deep...I just like the immersion of it. It's neat how they stripped it down from the first one a little...less to worry about. I'm temped to buy an Xbox and the game so I can just enjoy it during my 2 week Olympic break. Solid game.

Love it.
The central story arc seems secondary to the universe and character set but I don't mind. Decisions seem to have more impact and poignancy. Final mission is very satisfying.
My only gripe is that the structure is leaning toward short quick missions and the game follows the same Bioware formulaic structure. Not that it's a bad structure or template, just not very fresh.

Maybe that's what he had ME1 on and wanted to import his character?
I had ME1 on 360 'cause that's what it came out on first but I bought the second one for PC. I was a little pissed that I couldn't recreate my decisions in ME2 but had to find someone else's game that kinda matched mine.

Its quite good, but I feel instead of making the parts that weren't very well done in Mass Effect 1, they just decided to get rid of it. For instance, Instead of making the MAKO exploration good, they just removed it. I mean, the majority of the problem was the bland environments and near impossible hills to climb with the MAKO. Instead of making the inventory system good, they just removed it and added upgrade options/research. I quite like loot, hell thats what makes d2 so addicting. They did make hacking much better though instead of removing it. Scanning, so slow and tedious. Also, the sensitivity for aiming on the pc is crap and same goes with their options for changing it. Luckily, I can just press +/- on my mouse to alter the settings, but it still doesn't feel quite right. Maybe its because I don't normally play third person shooters, and just play shooters in first person, and hence, aiming feels more natural in those games. somethinginnocuous wrote: Love it.

I wish the central story arc was a bit better. I felt the main story in the first game was better though I agree that they did improve upon the characters/setting in this game. Now to see when I get time to get through bioshock 2...
