The MaCHinE TF2 Server is offline temporarily
|
There was a fire at Fisher Plaza (where the server is hosted) which has affected our server (and I'm sure many others). Be patient, they're working on getting power to the building restored.
John at NFO wrote: At a little before midnight on Thursday, July 2, InterNAP says that a fire in the mechanical room at Fisher Plaza damaged the building's infrastructure, taking out its redundant utility power feeds as well as its generator capacity. Apparently the redundant UPS systems serving our cabinet there also failed, bringing all our equipment thoroughly offline. It has been offline since, and it is 3am PDT as of this email.
Sever Control Panel Update wrote: InterNAP is now telling us that the damage to the power systems was greater than originally thought, and not only is the utility feed to the building unusable, but the generators also do not work. InterNAP's UPS systems have run out of battery power and now all equipment in Fisher Plaza is offline and will stay offline until utility power or generator power can be restored, and that won't be possible until fire crews are done with their work and the equipment has been repaired.
In short, this is a total mess that likely won't be cleaned up for at least a few hours.

Announcing the 1st TheMaCHinE.org TF2 Tournament!

TheMaCHinE will be hosting a TF2 tournament locally! Details will be below. This event will be held depending on feedback from the community and all details will be decided in part by the community.
Requirements:
1) Must be registered on the forums
2) Must coordinate with other teams on the forums to schedule matches
3) Matches must be completed within a two weeks of bracket start (timing may be subject to change)
Current TF2 Tournament Settings:
Teams: 4 player teams
Maps: Standard maps chosen by vote from community
Prizes: To be announced (CHEESUS WOULD LIKE TO SAY HE WILL SEND HIS LOVE TO THOSE WHO WIN)
Server: Server info to come soon!
I will continue to update this post as details become more clear. Coordination will be in the TF2 Forums so keep up-to-date on the details as they come out.

Behold The New Server Policy Council Member

Many things have been under going many, many changes as of late and we have been working hard towards making our community better. Which is why we have a couple of new announcements.
First off:
EVERYONE PLEASE WELCOME CHEESUS TO THE SPC!!!
He's been active member in helping us to make The MaCHinE a better community for almost 2 years and we are giving him the chance to work on the SPC! Want to know more about what the SPC is, click here.
2nd off:
Also Fierpup and Foo2Rama have recently taken over management of the TF2 server and our devoting their time to getting stuff rolling. If you have suggestions for the TF2 server map rotation go here.
And last but not least:

First ever Eve Tourny Completed

On winning the First Caldari Illuminati 1v1 PvP tourny!
If you guys did not know alot of us are playing Eve Online again. This Sunday we held our first 1v1 tourny in which, all pilots brought their best PvP fitted Tier 1 frigate to duke it out in a winner take all tourny. Thanks to Whitebread (Pax Tyranus) and Musicman (Desterous Light) for providing the funding and time to run this tourny

What is this thing called Eve? well check it out one of the coolest MMO's out there, post in the Eve forum and someone will send you an extended trail period so you can see what is going on. Want to run a corp? Hunt Pirates, be a bounty hunter, become the king of the player based markets, join in epic fleet battles, or just hunt down players stupid enough to be out in space alone? You can do it all! This game basically has 0 rules, and almost 100% player created content. Oh and it looks sweet also! Start playing now and see why this title has so a huge dedicated player base. Did I mention that it has only one world and up to 50k people all play on the same server at the same time?
